Secretaries of CIS Security Councils dealt with security issues in Central Asian region

The 6th Meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states took place in Moscow, BNews.kz reports referring to an official website of Akorda.
During the event, the heads of delegations discussed the current regional interaction in modern challenges and threats to stability and security in the CIS area. In particular, the situation in Afghanistan and measures to ensure the security of the Central Asian states, prevention of financing of terrorism and religious extremism, as well as interaction in biosecurity were under discussion.
As part of the regular bilateral consultations at the level of the staff of the Security Councils of Kazakhstan and Russia, Gabit Baizhanov held talks with his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev.
An exchange of views on a wider range of areas of bilateral relations in the security sphere, including prevention of international terrorism and religious extremism, as well as interaction in the sphere of food security, took place.
