Senate Chairman congratulated Kazakhstan citizens on a new alphabet

The speaker of the Senate is certain that this is a historically significant event for Kazakhstan.

 

Chairman of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on a new alphabet approved by the President of Kazakhstan, the BNews.kz correspondent reports.

"2018 jylǵy 19 aqpanda Elbasy qazaq tiliniń jańa álipbıi týraly Jarlyǵyna qol qoidy. Bul tarıhı mańyzǵa ıe oqıǵa. Barshańyzdy shyn júrekten quttyqtaımyn! (In February 19, 2018, the head of state signed the order on the transition to a new alphabet. It is a historically significant event. Congratulate everyone on this event)," says the message on Tokayev’s official Twitter page. 

Earlier, it was said that the President of Kazakhstan signed the decree “On introducing amendments to the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan of October 26, 2017 No. 569 “On transition of the Kazakh language alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin.”

“To introduce the following amendments to the decree of the President of October, 2017: “On Transition of the Kazakh Language Alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin” (CAPG of the Republic of Kazakhstan, № 50-51-52, article 326): the alphabet of the Kazakh language based on the Latin script, which was affirmed by the mentioned decree, is to be rendered in a new version according to the appendix of the decree’’, says the document published on Tuesday.
