SEZs activity at play - Kazakh Ministry for Investments and Development
Parliament of Kazakhstan considers a bill "On Special Economic Zones in the Republic of Kazakhstan".
The Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan told about the activity of the authority following the critic of the head of state concerning special economic zones (SEZ) during the February session of the Government, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
The ministry responded to the critic of the head of state at the beginning of the year. We cooperate closely with SEZ representatives. Around 170 projects have already launched in 11 SEZ. About 130 billion tenge has been returned. Head of SEZ Administration of the Committee on Investments Arsen Mendygaziev explained during the IV Congress of participants of special economic zones of Kazakhstan in Astana.
Besides, the minister informed on a number of problematic issues which are to be solved within the SEZ bill.
Members of Majilis (lower chamber of the Kazakhstani Parliament) discuss the bill on special economic zones, economic industrial zones.
In turn, Deputy Chairman of Board of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Kuanysh Bishimov announced 14.5 thousand jobs have created in 11 SEZs.
Atameken NCE is interested in a big number of businessmen near SEZs as they provide for jobs and social aspects. Moreover, it is necessary for SEZs to develop their potential for export and domestic markets.
To recap during the February extended government meeting, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed not to create new special economic zones and analyze the efficiency of current 11 SEZs.
