More than 61 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of the third stage of development of the resort zone.

All the conditions for all types of tourism will be created in the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone through the implementation of large-scale international, cultural and sports projects. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly at the presentation dedicated to the development of the tourist zone, the Bnews.kz correspondent reported.

Today, the third stage of development of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone until 2020 is realized for a total of more than 61 billion tenge, almost half of which is private investment.

"The main goal is to expand the resort's area by the four operating tourist zones, the so-called "Four seasons" concept. I believe that we should go beyond the sanatorium and health resort of Kazakhstan in this area. Relying on the cluster, it is necessary to create conditions for all types of tourism through the implementation of large-scale international, cultural and sports projects," the minister said.

As Muhamediuly noted, the entertainment complex Kazakhstan Lapland, created on the initiative of the head of state, the mountain base Yelikti Park and the glade Ablai-Khan, operate there.

"These are the first steps towards attracting a year-round tourist to Borovoe. Unfortunately, there is not a single world class infrastructure object. In a whole progressive world, large-scale entertainment events are a source of attraction for tourists. For example, in Las Vegas, spectacular cultural events are held in the global gaming hub attracting massive billion-dollar tourist flows.

Also, among these examples are the multifunctional Air Canada Center in Toronto. Over 200 large-scale events are held there annually, owing to which for the first 10 years it earned 2,5 billion US dollars," the head of the Ministry of Culture said.

In this case, such a multifunctional, cultural and entertainment center will be the Burabay Congress Center. Events of the international class will be organized there.

"Kazakhstan has an ambitious task to increase the share of tourism, which we now have 1% of GDP in the structure to 8% by 2025. In 2017, an updated Concept for the Development of the Tourism Industry of Kazakhstan until 2023 was adopted. It fixes a cluster approach to the development of tourism in accordance with the principles of interregional cooperation," the head of the Ministry said.
