The largest Egyptian Bank to open a representative office in Kazakhstan
Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Bank Misr El Etreby highly appraised the initiative to create the AIFC and confirmed the intention to establish cooperation with the new centre.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Egypt Arman Isagaliyev met with Chairman of the second largest Egyptian Bank Misr Mohamed El Etreby. At the meeting, the ways of activization of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Egypt in the bank sphere were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports.
“El Etreby, highly appraising the initiative of the creation of the AIFC (the International Finance Centre “Astana’) and its potential to become a regional finance hub in the future, confirmed the intention to establish cooperation with the new centre. At the same time, the head of Misr expressed the wish to open a representative office of the bank in Kazakhstan in the near future,” says the message distributed on Wednesday.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Board was familiarized with the current economic situation in Kazakhstan, including the main points the January Address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people “News possibilities of development in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution”, as well as with the five social initiatives announced in March this year, says the Ministry’s information.
For reference: The Bank Misr was established in 1920 and is one of the leading banks of Egypt. The institution has about 600 local branches, as well as five branches in the UAE and one in France. At the same time, regional representative offices of the bank operate in China, Russia, Lebanon and Germany.
