According to Maulen Ashimbayev, among the key norms of the bill, the emphasis should be placed on those ensuring the right of children.

The presented bill “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of Kazakhstan on issues of religious activity and religious associations” will focus on ensuring religious stability in our country. It was said by the deputy of the Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan, the chairman of the International affairs, defense and security committee, Maulen Ashimbayev, BNews.kz correspondent reported.

“Today’s bill is very important. At its presentation, we notice that very important issues are being raised within the bill. In general, the bill on one hand will facilitate to the implementation of the fundamental right of our citizens for freedom of conscience, on the other hand the bill will ensure religious stability in our country,” deputy Maulen Ashimayev said.

He noted, that among the key norms of the bill, the emphasis should be placed on those ensuring the right of children.

“To protect our children from destructive religious organizations is one of the main tasks and the bill includes relevant norms in this direction. It is certain, that we will cope with the norms, and in general we will keep norms, which ensure the right of our children. With the purpose to avoid the involvement of children into activities of religious organizations without the permission of their parents, and particularly to prevent any attempts of destructive organizations to involve children into their activities. That is why, we will continue to cope with the norms of the bill,” he said.

According to Ashimbayev, the main norm of the bill concerns the limitation to be educated in suspicious religious institutions abroad.

“One of the serious issues for Kazakhstan is at the time several our citizens illegally left our country for several countries, where they were educated in suspicious religious organizations, and where they were inculcated the ideology of radical religious organizations, and later they became conductors of such destructive movements. I think, that in the future, with the purpose to prevent such facts, relevant norms should be introduced into the laws,” he said.
