The minister of religious affairs donated his salary to priests
The minister of religious affairs and civil society of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev offered a monthly salary in charity foundation "The Kazakhstan fund "Uakyp".
The fund is created at the initiative of the Head of state to exclude spontaneity and to promote systemacity of the charitable relations in Kazakhstan.
The main objectives of fund are the help to needy segments of the population, rendering and assistance in implementation of social projects, also support of priests, imams, BNews.kz correspondent reported.
"On its own behalf I would like to make a private contribution to your fund, personally from myself I give donations at a rate of my one monthly salary," the minister of affairs of religions and civil society of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev said and gave an envelope with money to the chairman of Uakyp fund.
The fund will render assistance in preparation, professional development of imams. A fund is formed due to donations of citizens, individuals and the legal organizations, the state doesn't finance undertaking of fund.
At the expense of the raised funds the fund intends to train 60 imams at advanced training courses at Nur – Mubarak university and 30 imams at institute on retraining of experts in the field of counteraction to extremism.
