The construction of the mosque on the right bank of the Ishim River was started in 2016. It was erected at the expense of sponsors. The building of the mosque has the style of postmodernism with the use of traditional patterns and decorative elements. The core building has a complex, hemispherical shape, that has triangular inclined planes and a dome with a diameter of 26 meters. The external design of the mosque looks like a flower and a diamond’s facets.   The minaret’s height located north from the core building of the mosque is 43.5 meters and constructed in the shape of “kalama” – the holly feather.

It is noteworthy that this is the only mosque in the world with a positive balance of energy consumption, because the building is supplied with energy by solar batteries. According to the author of the project the building has a zero energy consumption.

The new mosque can fit 750 visitors once. The square of the building is 2248 square meters. The area of the land is 1.44 ha.

“The mosque has a unique architecture. The facility was built in a modern style. In addition, the mosque generates energy. By other words, the building do not consume the city’s energy, but generates energy from solar batteries. Solar batteries are installed on its yard, that are estimated for 200 kilowatt. The mosque consumes 30 per cent of the energy being generated, and the remaining per cent is enough to supply the city. The system is like this, to reach a zero balance, and do not consume energy from city power plants,” said Oleg Ustinov, quality assurance engineer of Stroiinvest-CC (builder).

“The mosque has a modern ventilation system, that counts emissions of carbon dioxide by sensors and starts to cycle air. That is, when many people visit the mosque the system begins to work and the ventilation system begins to work more active. Also, the ventilation system allows to maintain the same temperature in the building at any time,” said Oleg Ustinov.

Following the estimate of experts, the new mosque consumes energy two times less that any other same mosque. In this connection, the investment will pay off over seven years.

“We are glad that our country opens new mosques. It was a great honour to have head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev at the opening ceremony. The head of state was pleasantly surprised once he knew about new technologies applied when constructing the mosque. Nursultan Abishevich said and keeps saying that we need to apply ‘green’ technologies in order, firstly, to make the people happy. During the pray in the nighttime, hundreds of believers visited the mosque. We have a vast territory, there are many parking lots, and but there were people who could not fit. All people are happy. During Ramadan, people from all parts of Kazakhstan visited the mosque, and left the mosque with an open sole. The mosques enter the level when they could support people,” says Grand Imam of the mosque Yryskeldi qajy Yakhiyahajji Islamilov.

The mosque was named after the father of Adilbek Dzhaksybekov – Yrskeldi qajy for a reason. The head of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan was one of the sponsors of the construction of a new mosque.

“The mosque was constructed at the expense of sponsors. A group of friends led by Adilbek Dzhaksybekov had gathered and constructed the mosque. At the Spiritual Department of Muslims of Kazakhstan the Commission operates that names the mosques. It had considered the proposal of the initiative group and submitted to name the mosque after Yrskeldi qajy. Such a practice is run everywhere in the world. For instance, in Mecca and Medina, mosques are named after initiators. Islam welcomes it. Yryskeldi qajy was a highly esteemed old person, hero of labour. And his spouse Gashura Tuleshenovna worked as a teacher. Yrskeldi qajy from the first days of retirement took part in providing support to mosques, helped people. Believers come to me and ask: “We worked with his, saw him.” They leave many nice words about him. In my opinion, it says a lot. Because following the Quran the son should do good deeds to his parents,” said the Imam.

A madrasah will operate in the mosque where boys will be taught.

“The opening of the mosque is very important, because, unfortunately, there are stories when people make mistakes and find themselves in the wrong hands. I am saying about various extremist movements. It is for certain, once the city had only one mosque, many people gathered around the mosque, and the radicals would immediately attracted young boys. And now things have been changed. No one except for religious personnel could not teach and to be responsible. The only survival is literacy. People should be taught to a true religion of our ancestors, only then people will never be influenced by wrongful movements,” said the speaker.

The Imam noted that the main requirements for fast on the holy month of Ramadan are not only the obligatory refusal of food, drinking and love affairs from dawn till dusk, but also to dedicate oneself to God, diligence and sincere serving Allah.

“The holy month of Ramadan is always welcomed on our land properly. It is a great month of forgiving sins, the month of good deeds, the month with the night of value. As Kazakhs say: “Laylat al-Qadr is like thousands of months.” On the night of value, many people visited the mosque. Over the whole month, we prayed for soles of believers, did charity, helped those in need. One should always keep in mind that Islam teaches only good deeds, mercy, patience, culture. Prophet Mohammed told that religion is the person’s disposition. And, what the believer looks like? The believer is someone who will never do a bad deed to someone, he is always ready to help anyone,” he added.
