Turkestan’s development discussed in Akorda
Governor of Turkestan region Zhanseit Tuimebayev arrived in Astana to report about changing of scenery of the regional centre.
During a meeting, the head of state was reported about plans and perspectives of Turkestan’s development and implementation of instruction concerning the regional centre’s scenery changing from Shymkent to Turkestan, the website of Akorda reports.
Famously new Turkestan region was established in the country. In my view, it is a right decision. The regional centre now moves to the city of Turkestan and it is quite a complex process,” Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
Besides, the President underlined special historical and spiritual significance of Turkestan for Kazakhstan’s citizens and the whole Turkic world.
"This is a sacred place for the Turkic people, therefore it is visited by a large number of people, many well-known personalities are buried here," the head of state told.
In addition, First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin informed on the concept of territorial development of the city of Turkestan. In turn, Governor of the Turkestan region Zhanseit Tuimebayev on the progress of the transfer of administrative and territorial administrating authorities to the new regional centre.
Moreover, the President was informed in details about plans concerning the city’s infrastructure development and building of social facilities, issues in the sphere of energy and water supply.
Summarizing the meeting the head of state gave a number of instructions to the Government and the administration of the region.
