Turkic Council states were offered to approve joint package tour
A meeting of tourism ministers of the Turkic Council takes place in Astana.
According to BNnews.kz correspondent development of tourism, including the development of relations with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and China. Simplification of bureaucratic procedures among the Turkic-speaking states, as well as a strengthening of relations with the UN World Tourism Organization were considered during the 4th meeting of Turkic Council Tourism Ministers in the capital of Kazakhstan.
By the way, Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Haluk Dursun, State Registration Service State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktybek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashad Mamedov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in the Republic of Kazakhstan Nevzat Uyanik attended the meeting.
Kazakhstan experienced the economic effect of tourism during EXPO-2017 when more than seven million people arrived there, the total flow grew by 25%. National tourism amounted to around six million travelers. Since independence, Kazakhstan had sharp contours on the world map. Tourism industry had undergone continuous development for decades and left behind the volume of business transactions in an export of oil, food trade, automotive industry. Kazakhstan tourism’s share amounts to more than 10% of the world GDP, and about 7% of world export. The number of foreign tourists this year increased by 7% and amounted to 1.3 billion people. The average annual influx of tourists is 3-4%. It should be noted the growing demand of China and India. These tendencies contribute new opportunities in world tourism development including Kazakhstan as well,” Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan stated.
In his words, Kazakhstan faces an ambitious goal to lead Kazakhstan in top-30 of world developed countries and to increase its share in GDP structure from current 1% up to 8% by 2025 .
Another point is the carrying of 10 objects to the republican level. Among them are mountain cluster in Almaty region, Alakol lake, Balkhash, Caspian Sea, Charyn canyon, restoration of Ancient Turkestan. Head of state pointed out Turkestan in the development of the Turkic world. According to the speaker, Turkestan has not lost its inherent functions since ancient times. The pride of place goes to the Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi - as a symbol of the Türkic world. Turkestan in the concept of the Head of State only enhances the tourist potential and recreates the spirit of the medieval city from the fairy tale 1000 and One Night.
In addition, Mukhamediuly noted the number of museums increased in Kazakhstan due to Rukhani Zhagyru program.
Moreover, Kazakhstan pays a lot of attention to the liberalization of visa migration regime.
“Currently citizens of 61 states enjoy visa-free regime including 35 OECD states, 16 states no need in visa due to mutual agreements and another 48 states get touristic visas without invitation. The issue of group tourist visas to Chinese citizens is being carried out, and there is a similar agreement with Iran. The 72-hour visa-free transit for citizens of China, India, flying through the airports of Astana and Almaty to other countries introduced Kazakhstan as well,” the head of the authority noted.
In addition, there are organized crossings for tourist groups on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz state border from July 1 to September 30. A regular helicopter excursion and air transportation of foreign and national tourists of Kazakhstan operators to Khan-Tengri peak were launched on July 1. Signing an agreement with Uzbekistan on mutual recognition of visa regimes in facilitating the crossing of borders by foreign tourists on tourism products of the Silk Road is underway.
September 3 Kyrgyzstan will host the Summit of the Heads of State of the Turkic Council. The Kazakh Culture Minister proposed to approve the joint tourist product of the Great Silk Road and jointly promote it at international exhibitions.
The introduction of such a mechanism will essentially become an analogue of the Schengen visa, but only a tourist destination. “Together we can provide tourists with an unforgettable experience of ecotourism in ancient historical cities, including Turkestan and holy places like the Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi,” the minister noted.
Besides, it was proposed to declare 2019 a year of Kazakhstan’s tourism in Azerbaijan.
A report of the 13th meeting of the working group, as well as the protocol of the 4th Ministerial Meeting on Tourism, were adopted summarizing the event.
