UAE shows interest in Kazakhstan's experience in combating corruption

The director of the Dubai Economic Security Centre noted that their country shows interest in Kazakhstan's experience, particularly in procedural matters relating to investigations. 

 

In Astana, Alik Shpekbayev met with the Executive Director of the Dubai Economic Security Centre of the UAE. During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation, a press service of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption reported. 

The delegation also included representatives of the Economic Security Centre and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Kazakhstan Mohammad Ahmad Sultan Essa Aljaber. 

Alik Spekbayev warmly thanked the members of the delegation for the meeting and informed the guests on the systematic work to combat corruption and the role of the Agency in this process. 

"Today Kazakhstan and the United Arabic Emirates effectively cooperate in a whole range of areas, especially in trade, economy, and business. I am sure that this meeting will give an additional impetus to the bilateral relations in the fight against corruption," he said. 

In his turn, the director of the Dubai Economic Security Centre underlined that the UAE is interested in Kazakhstan's experience in combatting corruption. 

"Corruption exists in all states. And Kazakhstan has a wide arsenal of tools to fight it. We are interested in legal, organizational and other mechanisms in this area that are developed and introduced. And procedural matters relating to investigations are of special interest," he said. 

He also expressed interest in terms of Kazakhstan's practice of the separate anti-corruption accountable to the President and noted a strategic significance of such an approach. 

Following the meeting, he thanked Alik Shpekbayva for the welcome and expressed readiness to multifaceted cooperation, and invited him to the United Arabic Emirates to the more detailed study of the experience in the field of combatting corruption. 

The sides decided to establish more close contacts enabling to deal with legal issues in combatting corruption within an accelerated time framework.
