Up to 30 thousand foreigners expelled from Kazakhstan for violating the law - the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The problem of insufficient control by the migration service is obvious.
Over the past three years, 30,000 foreigners have been brought to administrative responsibility in Kazakhstan for violating migration legislation, Majilis Deputy Nurlan Abdirov said at the Government hour in the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on the issue "On the status and measures to ensure migration control in the Republic of Kazakhstan," Bnews.kz correspondent reports.
"According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the past 3 years, 30 thousand foreigners have been brought to administrative responsibility, more than 36 thousand violators of migration legislation have been deported from the country," he said.
According to him, 3506 criminal cases have been instituted against foreigners, most of them connected with thefts and drug offenses. More than 2.5 thousand foreigners themselves became victims of crimes.
"The problem of insufficient control by the migration service is obvious. We believe that it is necessary to increase the efficiency of state bodies in counteracting illegal migration," he said.
As Abdirov stressed, among other important measures the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the National Security Committee should introduce a system of geometric control at the checkpoints, counteract the organizations of the illegal migration channel, including by increasing the security of passport-visa and other documents that would identify the person, develop a mechanism of deportation of illegal migrants taking into account the country's international obligations.
It should be noted that since 2015 the number of foreigners, who annually visit the country, increased by 20%. Only within the last year, more than 5.5 million foreigners (mainly from the CIS countries) visited Kazakhstan. At the same time, the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered only 2.5 million people, that is fewer than half.
