Vatican City State thanks Nazarbayev for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

Francesco Coccopalmerio notes that the Kazakh Presidents endeavours to establish a dialogue with all interested parties.

Vatican's Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio expressed gratitude to President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the creation of the site for dialogue between leaders of world religions at the 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

"This is a very important moment for human history. The moment when we focus on the words of wisdom that are key to many important challenges the world faces. The resumption of normal life and peace should be especially considered. Our contribution, religious leaders with politicians, is a guarantee to achieve those important results.

We thank Nursultan Nazarbayev not only for being the President of the country in the crucial moments since the independence but also for his aspiration to establish dialogue between all interested parties, thus creating the important platform to maintain this dialogue," said Vatican's Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio at the 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

Expressing gratitude to the Kazakh President, the Cardinal underlined that huge efforts and quality works were conducted to organize the 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

"The Congress is a good platform for meetings, discussing ideas, views on what can be done to strengthen safety in the world. I would like to convey some words about the necessity to separate religion and politics, as well as cooperation. Religion and politics strive to provide people and societies' well-being, as well as to avoid ambiguity. Religion and politics need to keep a distance between each other. And, such separation gives an opportunity for effective cooperation between these two in the name of common development," he said.

In conclusion, Francesco Coccopalmerio underlined that Kazakhstan was a secular state where religious, cultural and historic diversity had been reached.

"So one can observe such a glorious mosaic of diverse views of religions, which is the basis to avoid conflicts when various groups of religious and ethnic people with different principles live in peace and cooperation. God bless Kazakhstan," said Vatican's Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio.
