Women's boxing team of Kazakhstan to leave for tournament in Serbia
Zhaina Shekerbekova and Karina Ibragimova will not participate in the Tournament as they won medals at the recent World Championship.
The women's boxing team of Kazakhstan will take part in the international tournament Cup of Nations taking place from January 14 to 21 in the Serbian city of Sombor, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
According to head coach Vadim Prisyazhnyuk, the national team of Kazakhstan will be presented by Number 1 athletes, with only Zhaina Shekerbekov and Karina Ibragimova missing the tournament.
"The Tournament is representative, as the teams from Europe, Canada and China will complete. Zhaina Shekerbekov, who is a silver winner of the World Championship, and Karina Ibragimova (bronze) do not participate, and other Number 1 athletes participate," said Vadim Prisyazhnyuk.
So among the particiopants are Aigerim Kassenayeva (48kg), Nazym Kyzaybay (51kg), Angelina Lukas (51kg), Dina Zholaman (54kg), Saniya Sultanova (57kg), Rimma Volosenko (60kg), Milana Safronova (64kg), Aliya Abdraimova (64kg), Akerke Bakhytzhan (69kg), Aida Ondash (75kg), Lyazzat Kungeibayeva (+81kg)
The head coach has also noted that the Kazakh boxers' key task would be not to win, but to check themselves to prepare for more significant competitions.
"The main task is to train. This is the first tournament since the year's beginning to look at the current training state of our athletes. And, from February 1, we begin preparations for the Asian Championship," said the head coach of the women's national team of Kazakhstan.
