Women head up to 40% of SMEs in Kazakhstan – the Secretary of State

31 per cent of all work places are provided by them.

Within a trip of the Secretary of State on the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, Hakan Cavusoglu, took part in the work of the Business forum of businesswomen of Kazakhstan and Turkey, BNews.kz correspondent reports with reference to akorda.kz.

Gulshara Abdykalikova told about the policy conducted in Kazakhstan that is aimed to increase possibilities of women. According to her, for today 10.1% of (43 people) women serve in politics.  33 women are in the Parliament or 22% of a total number of deputes. 43% of subjects of small- and medium-sized enterprises are head by women, which provide 31% (964 thousand people) with workplaces. According to the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum, Kazakhstan ranked 30th in the economic participation and possibilities of women indicator.  

At the same time, the forum presented innovative business-projects of women entrepreneurs, constructive exchange of the advanced experience was held, issues of further development of economic and investment relations between women’s business-communities of Kazakhstan and Turkey were discussed.

Also, on the sidelines of the forum, Gulshara Abdykalikova held meetings with speaker of the Parliament of Turkey Ismail Kaharman, Deputy Prime Minister o Turkey Hakan Cavusoglu, Minister for Family and Social Policy of Turkey Fatma Betul Sayan Kaya. At the meetings, the current state of the Kazakh-Turkish relations and perspectives of social and economic as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation were discussed.
