The Head of State met with a member of the Board of the World Trade Centers Association Rolf Draak and director for corporative investment at Nest Investments HOLDINGS Mehran Eftekhar, a press office of Akorda has informed.
The Head of State was presented with the design of a World Trade Center building planned to be undertaken through foreign investment.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has noted that the meeting is a continuation of the talks held at a Kazakhstan-Europe business forum in Brussels last October.
“In Brussels, we discussed your proposals and agreed to meet again. Taking into consideration the huge experience in such projects, I am sure that our cooperation will be productive for both sides. I wish the project meets the mood, spirit of our capital city and its architecture,” said the Kazakh President.
The Head of State went on to highlight the construction and formation of Astana, speaking of the history of each architectural object.
Nursultan Nazarbayev outlined that Astana, being the center of the Eurasian continent, combines architectural styles and traditions of western and eastern cultures.
The Head of State additionally spoke of the construction of the pavilions of the EXPO 2017 international specialized exhibition.
“After we won the right to hold EXPO 2017, we set off a contest. The Nur Alem sphere with a diameter of 80 meters is a unique building in the world, the construction of which I observed. The Astana International Financial Centre, the International Centre of Green Technologies and the International Technopark of IT startups based on the EXPO 2017’s infrastructure have been launched, as well as the International IT University is underway. In my opinion, the synergy of all the projects will give a positive multiplier effect,” said the Kazakh President.
The World Trade Centers Association’s member Rolf Draak has expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the opportunity to meet and discuss the design of a new World Trade Centre building in the capital city.
In his turn, Director for Corporative Investment at Nest Investments HOLDINGS Mehran Eftekhar has underlined that Astana is of special strategic importance in expanding the Company’s trade and economic ties.
“Our Investment Group possesses the 18 largest trade centers. We know how to construct and manage such centers. Astana and Kazakhstan as a whole take a special place in our strategic expansion taking into consideration their involvement in the One Belt, One Road project,” said Mehran Eftekhar.
Concluding the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev has approved the design of a World Trade Centre building and tasked Astana Mayor Mr. Sultanov to embark on timely work on its implementation.
