Krymbek Kusherbayev


Born on May 20, 1955.

In 1978, he graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V.I. Lenin with a degree in civil engineering.

In 1991, he graduated from the postgraduate school of the Academy of Social Sciences at the CPSU Central Committee with a degree of political analyst. He holds doctorate degree in political sciences.

From 1978 he worked as an engineer, head of the group on preparation of the production of PMK-112 of “Glavrissovhozstroy” of Kyzylorda.

Since 1979 he served as the chief of the staff of the all-Union Komsomol construction – rise engineering systems of Kyzylorda region.

From 1981 K. Kusherbayev headed the sector of Komsomol top-priority project organizations of the LKSM Central Committee of Kazakhstan.

Since 1982 he was the executive organizer of the LKSM Central Committee of Kazakhstan (Almaty).

In 1983, he became the first secretary of Kyzylorda municipal committee of the LKSM Kazakhstan.

In 1986, he was appointed deputy head of the sector of Komsomol organizations of the LKSM Central Committee of Kazakhstan (Almaty).

In 1987-88 he held the position of the head of the cultural department of the LKSM Central Committee of Kazakhstan.

In 1991, Kusherbayev served as an advisor in the Executive Office for culture and international relations of the Presidential Administration of the Kazakh SSR.

From 1991 – advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

In 1994, he was appointed the head of the Kalinin district administration of Almaty.

In 1995, he became deputy head of the Office – head of the department of internal policy of the Office of the Cabinet of Kazakhstan.

Since 1995, he served as deputy head of the Office – head of the territorial development department of the Office of the Government of Kazakhstan.

In 1996, he was appointed the press secretary – head of the President’s press service of Kazakhstan.

From 1997, he held the post of the Minister of Education, Culture and Healthcare of Kazakhstan.

Since 1999, he was the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan.

In 2000, K. Kusherbayev was appointed the Governor of West Kazakhstan region.

From 2003, he served as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia, Finland and Armenia.

From 2006 till December 2011, Kusherbayev held the post of the Governor of Mangystau region.


On July 13, 2012 served as Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On September 26, 2012, served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On January 16, 2013, removed from the position due to his transfer to another job


K. Kusherbayev was awarded “Parasat” order, “Friendship” order, “Barys” order of the 2nd degree.
